Artificial Intelligence Passes Physician Examination in the U.S. Two AI programs, including ChatGPT, were able to pass the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE). šŸ¤– ChatGPT is an AI chatbot responsible for creating texts based on requests from human users. It was developed by OpenAI and became known in early December 2022 after demonstrating its capabilities by communicating with an insurance company on social networks. šŸ‘Øā€šŸ’¼ According to Denys Tsvaig, DeHealth CEO & Co-Founder, and DeHealth R&D team, the AI tool performed well without any additional training: the accuracy of ChatGPT responses was as high as 60% (which roughly corresponds to the USMLE passing threshold). šŸ§¬ Another AI program, Flan-PaLM, tried its hand at the USMLE after special modification using medical databases (MultiMedQA). The accuracy of Flan-PaLM in answering USMLE questions was 67.6%. Based on these observations, experts believe that such AI programs can radically facilitate the doctor's daily tasks and increase his/her productivity. Twitter | LinkedIn | Instagram
