80% of consumers have turned to telemedicine, according to Rock Health #AdvisorQuote ◼️ The Rock Health 2022 Consumer Health Adoption Survey shows that telehealth is becoming increasingly popular as providers seek to address physician shortages, improve appointment efficiency, and reach more patients. ◼️ Older generation weren't the only demographic to show an increase in telemedicine use. In 2022, 73% of rural respondents said they had used telemedicine, up 13% from 2021. At the same time, 50% of uninsured respondents said they had used telemedicine in 2022, which is 13% more than in 2021. ◼️ The use of wearable devices has increased among respondents: 62% of respondents in "excellent" health have a wearable device, compared to 23% of respondents in "very poor" health. Among the respondents, 61% preferred telemedicine for prescription refills and 51% preferred the technology for treating minor illnesses. ◼️ Of the 20% of respondents who prefer in-person visits, 44% said they simply want to deal with health issues in person. Many consumers also distrust health data sharing and prefer to trust their health information with their providers. In 2022, 77% of respondents trusted doctors/clinicians, compared to 28% of digital health apps, 16% of websites and 11% of social media groups. 🎙🙌 Exclusive quote from Johan Olsson, DeHealth Business Adviser, regarding the topic: “The industry talked about Telehealth for many years and the implementation of Telehealth solutions were extremely slow, but 2 years of COVID 19 initiated a paradigm shift and made Telehealth solutions, the new “Normal”. Having said that, the healthcare industry is still an industry where patients privacy and safety is governed by strict regulatory frameworks, so we still have to be patient and see what the future will bring. None the less, I deem that the future looks bright for caregivers, patients and entrepreneurs focused on developing new solutions that will address the challenge of skyrocketing healthcare costs.”
